Once you have completed your account form - this procedure is free and does not give you any obligation to buy any photos from us - you just have to login and give your password to access the live database. You can then choose the photos available each day during the event, and order them right away.

You have the choice to download them directly from the web, or have it sent by e-mail (the e-mail which was put on your account profile). In few seconds, you will have your photo(s) on your computer, ready to use. We suggest that you use the direct download to avoid any e-mail problems on your side.

Who is this Wire Service dedicated to ?

This tool is dedicated mainly to Medias, News agencies, Online Magazines, National Federations, Sponsors and badminton related professionnals. Fans or individuals will not get access to this website, they can browse our free Gallery at www.badmintonphoto.com

Do I have to download photos each time I log in?

Absolutely not. You are free to do whatever you like. Once you are a client of BP, you can browse the live database and decide whether you want to purchase one or more photos, or skip it and wait for another day, or pictures that suit you better.

What are the formats of the photos available?

There are two kinds of photos available: high resolution and low-resolution photos.

The high resolution photos are in JPEG format, with a resolution of 300 dpi. This format is necessary for magazines and newspapers, and files weight vary from 500 Ko to 2 Mb. We use the same format as regular wire agencies. If you need higher resolution photos, we keep the original and can send them to you separately by e-mail.

The low-resolution format is in JPEG and have a resolution of 72 dpi, and is designed for web use (news agencies, websites, etc.). The photo is big enough to fill up a full screen.

All photos are available for transfer in a zip file, where all they will be put in a folder for high resolution and low resolution.

In all cases, an e-mail of confirmation will be sent to you within seconds after the order, to tell you which photos were taken, and the status of your account, with the number of photos left in the pack you took.

What information do I have with the photo ?

The big difference between the regular database and the Wire service is the quality of the photos, the live coverage, but also the information which goes along with the photos. On the Wire service website, you will get all the information you need on the photo you are about to buy : the name of the Photographer, the exact time it was taken, the speed, ISO and other technical information. But the real added value is the caption, that will appear on the website, under the photo, so that you know exactly the circumstances in which the photo was taken. All these information will also appear when you download the photo, and open it with the Photoshop software (in "file info").

What are the different packages?

Once you have settled an account, you have various possibilities: you can go for the per picture package, where you will be charged each time you download a photo from our live database. You can then ask for a monthly of bi-monthly bill.

You can also go for one of the other packs available with prices that are different depending on the use of the photos and what kind of media/professional you represent. You can even ask us for a specific pack that we can design especially for your needs.

How do I pay?

Once you have settled your account and decided which package you want to take, BP will invoice you and you will have to pay by money transfer. Invoices will be made in Euros, but we can make appear the rate of your own currency the day it was sent.

Depending on your package, BP and its client can decide on the most convenient way for payment timing. For all but unlimited packs, the payment shall be made after the photos were chosen and downloaded, then you will know exactly that it was money well spent.

What are the tournaments covered by BP?

We will be giving you a list of tournaments for the upcoming year, for which you can decide to go for. These tournaments will appear in the database (under tournaments to come). Once BP has put the event online, you can be sure one of our photographers will be there. In case of any problems, you will get your money back for the event if you already have paid for it (cancellation postponed, etc.). We will cover all IBF major events (Olympics, World Championships, Sudirman Cup, Thomas and Uber Cup) and all major IBF Grand Prix events.

How many photos will be put online everyday?

Depending on the size an importance of the event, our photographers will put at least a minimum of 10 to 15 photos everyday online, both high resolution and low resolution. But of course, if you become our client, we will ask our photographers to shoot your players in priority. You can then decide which photo suits you most to illustrate your article of the day.

Who works for BadmintonPhoto ?

The original photographer for BP is Raphael Sachetat, who has been covering events in badminton for many years, including for Agencies like AFP. The team has now widened to other professional photographers, who each have proven their worth in the past, with a special interest in badminton, which makes them more aware of what a good badminton photo is.

As the official Photo Agency of IBF, these photographers are granted with special accreditation and will be able to shoot in excellent conditions. For the Olympic Games, the BP photographer will be amongst the few photographers able to shoot from the "pool".

How can I use the photo ?

The packages are meant to be dedicated for a specific use, depending on your type of media, or identity. In all cases, the images of the players are to be used as a source of information or promotion of the sport. For any other use, including commercial use or involving any brand or company name, then the player has to be aware of the use. Buyers of our photos can not use the photos for commercial purposes unless given the authorization by the player's or his national federations. Buyers shall seek this authorization before buying the photo from BP, and BP will take no responsibility for any wrongful use of the photos purchased online.

Can I pre-order a specific photo?

Once again, we are dedicated to our clients - as many have worked with us already - and we will do our maximum to satisfy your needs, no matter how specific they are. That is the difference between a specialized photo agency and a regular wire service. If you know in advance what photo you will need, please send us a query and we will make sure we get what you want.

What if the downloading doesn't work?

If for any reason, you have not received your photo(s), you will still have the opportunity to re-order the photo at no extra cost. The photo will be left in your order account for an extra 48hours to prevent from any malfunction. If you order high-resolution photos, make sure that your e-mail account can receive large files. In any case, we suggest that you use the download option directly from the Internet. In case of emergency, you can send us a mail and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Can I personalise my access?

Yes, once you have settled your account, all you need is to put your login and pass word, and then you will have access to your database. You can then personalize it, with the number of photos you want to see on each page, the size of the photos, etc. It will remain this way until you change it again.

Can I still take photos from the regular database?

Of course, you can ask for any specific photos from the regular database at www.badmintonphoto.com and will be charged on a per picture base, unless you want us to include it in your pack. Your account will then be debited from the amount of photos. The photos from the regular database are not available by directly download and will be sent by regular e-mail within a maximum of 48 hours.

Are the photos on the Wire Network the same as the regular database?

Most of the ones we put online on the Wire will eventually end up in the database, but will be put at a later stage (about a month later). This is an added value for medias / Federations and clients who do not wish to see the photos that they bought already on a website before publication.
